Canada and Australia Announce Amendment to Youth Mobility Arrangement

On August 28, 2018, the Canadian and Australian Governments agreed to expand the age range in the Memorandum of Understanding between Canada and Australia relating to youth mobility.

Australian citizens will now be able to apply for a Canadian work permit under the International Experience Canada Program if they are 18 to 35 years of age (inclusive). Until now, Australian citizens had to be 18 to 30 years of age (inclusive) to participate in this Program.

The International Experience Canada Program includes the following categories: Working Holiday, Young Professional, and International Co-Op (Internship) which have varying eligibility criteria in addition to the age requirement.
