Rebecca Norton

Rebecca is an award winning* lawyer with over seven years of experience practising in immigration law. As an immigrant herself, Rebecca is passionate about immigration law and has earned a reputation as a highly skilled lawyer in this field.

During her career, Rebecca has acquired experience with respect to all types of immigration applications and has represented a wide range of clients, from entrepreneurs and investors to Fortune 500 companies and celebrities.

Rebecca has occupied a position on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta) Immigration South Section since 2013 and currently holds the position of Chair. Rebecca has drafted submissions to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship regarding the need for greater regulation of immigration consultants, and the Government of Alberta regarding proposed changes to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program.

A Pro Bono Immigration Lawyer at the Children’s Cottage Society, Rebecca recently successfully assisted a family in obtaining refugee status in Canada.

She has made significant contributions to the field of immigration law, and has been published by Canada’s Immigration and Citizenship Bulletin as well as the Canadian Industrial & Organizational Psychologist Journal. She recently presented at the Annual Canadian Employee Relocation Council Conference and the International Workers Forum West.

Rebecca is a Barrister and Solicitor in the Province of British Columbia as well as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. She is a Member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, the Association of Women Lawyers, and the Queensland Law Society.

Rebecca holds a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation which is administered by the Canadian Federation of Law Societies, a Bachelor of Laws from Bond University (Australia), and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law (Australia).
